I'm not a flavor beer guy but I've heard some good things about this collaboration beer. I looked in my area today and it's not here yet but I hope to get some soon as well as the Stone 17th Anniversary IPA.
I've been on a huge Stone kick recently so I think I need to call my sponsor and get to another meeting soon.

I like coconut, like Pina Coladas, but in a beer... hmmmm, I don't see it, but I am sheltered.

I've had coconut in a porter before and liked it. But never in an IPA.

Thread Necromancy...

Drinking this, one of the liquor stores by me has about a case of this hidden and forgotten now that fall beers are in full swing.

My take - good IPA, mega grapefruit bitterness. No coconut at all when cold. After warming up SLIGHT coconut on the nose, none on the flavor.

Not bad but would expect a whole lot more coconut...

Still got one in the fridge. The 'homebrewed' version of this beer is supposedly so much better. There is lots written on how the Stone version differs from the original version.
Still a pretty creative brew in my tiny estimation.

I liked it as an IPA, thought it had great hop flavor. But I did not detect any coconut in it.

Let it warm up and you can taste the slight coconut but I do get some coconut on the nose.

I had a local brew clubs Coconut stout last weekend, faint coconut aroma with the flavor hidden. Really have to dig for it. In my book, it was darn good...

This seems to be the consensus for this beer - not enough coconut in it. I didn't try it but by buddy did and he is a big coconut fan. He said it was a decent IPA, just shouldn't be called Coconut IPA.
