Southern Tier IPA...on Nitro

We went to dinner last night at our favorite BBQ place. Man the brisket is good. Anyway, they had a good number of beers on tap. I chose the Southern Tier IPA which was gassed on Nitro. Basically it's put through the same system as Guinness would be. It just sounded interesting to me and I was curious to see what the nitro gas would do to an IPA. And boy was I disappointed. The nitro makes the body almost creamy...if you ever had a Guinness on tap, you know what I mean.
The disappointing part was that it seemed the creamy body really had a negative effect on the bitterness and aroma. It had a very light bitterness and almost non-existent aroma, and it was very plain tasting. Hmmm....maybe that's why I'm not a huge Guinness fan. And since I was driving, that was the only beer that I had. It was kind of let down. At least the food was awesome!!!!
If you ever see an IPA on nitro...save yourself a few bucks and order something else!!
