All those boils last year since beginning this hobby on the flat top electric stove. Struggling to get a roiling boil....not one boil over. Doing second batch last night with my new Dark Star from Christmas on the front porch. Guess what...as soon as it started boiling and I threw in the hops and turned to put the bag down...I hear this HISSSSS. :( wort overflowing...flame out..thank GOD it was not on LOML's stove  ...what a mess. Relit the burner that was coated in wort and realized a lot of the jets were clogged.. proceeded with boil as there were enough open. My question is what is the best method for cleaning up the burner?

I have a set of welding tip cleaners(old acetylene torch type) from my grandfather(I got one of his toolboxes when he passed) worked fine for me when I did the same thing.

Sorry to hear you had a boil over mess that's happened to me on the stove before. Fortunately it is a glass top so clean-up wasn't to bad.

I'm not familiar with your burner but when my BBQ gets build ups that a wire brush won't clean I use a blue bottle propane torch to turn everything to ash FWIW.

I wonder if the manufacturer has clean up info on their website?

Ah, the dreaded "turned my back on the boiling wort" problem. Kind of like the welding tip cleaners Jim mentioned. Any hard wire type object that will fit in the hole size will work.
Or so I've heard, not like I've had to do it myself.

I managed to open up the holes on my stove top gas burner once with heavy duty wooden toothpicks when I was desperate.

Oh wait, no I never had to do that...

I've used toothpicks, coat hangers, and drill bits on various burners I've had to clean. Then turn on high for a minute or two to burn out any residual burnt sugars.

Tip on adding hops.... I add a couple pellets at a time and never get a boil over... anymore

A watched pot never boils, turn your back and it's guaranteed to boil over
