I think it's sad really. I mean, there were a lot of good times there.
We got to welcome new members, help walk them through making their first few batches, then helping them expand those batches with grains and what not.
I guess this is to be expected. Coopers wants to follow a modle that seems to have worked for them. I went to the coopers site a few times, wasn't much impressed. Trying to remember if their website was the same as MB now. Phiff... like I can remember doodly squat. I'm still working on my first cup of Wakethephaqup.
I know MB isn't gonna wanna link to here (DOH! that's a given) and the other sad part is, we never really talked bad about MB.
I haven't done a MB for a while. The last one I did was ... um... dang...crap... can't remember... late last year? maybe earlier this year? it was a left over can of...I forget and a ume. it came out tasting like prune juice. I dumped it.
But I've been doing all grain for about ...um, I think 3 years.
oh well. poop. I'm just glad y'all migrated over to this one. I shall miss the ones I'll never meet from the other.

It is nice that a bunch of the old crowd came over, it's a great way to start a new chapter.
You are right, the one thing that will never be what it was will be helping the MrB newbs. But that ain't our fault, it's MrB's. I suspended my brew club, don't feel like thinking about it right now. I haven't been buying much from them lately anyway.

I will likely get maybe one order of Sticky Wickett and maybe Engish Nut Brown (whatever they're called now) from Brewdemon, and just stick to AG's for the most part ... HME's are "in the mood" mode now, for little LBK "treats".

The MR. B community site is down now....what a fiasco man!

It's up now and seems to be fixed, i.e. you can log in.

But really, why would we want to log on now? I still check it a few times a day but if they don't care enough to update us after more than a week, I don't think I need them anymore.
