14 inches on the ground

Expecting 7 more and high winds over night. That $800 snowblower I bought the year before last is going to be worth it's weight in gold.

It's looking like I'll be up in that range by tomorrow afternoon. 1" per hour right now and it's not gonna stop for a long time.

Good news is it will fix the iced over trails from the rain last weekend, so I will be able to ski again.

We're getting it now. We just shoveled out, and it seems to be about 4-5 inches. Problem is, as we were out there, it seemed to be turning into freezing rain.

In the NorthEast hills of CT we've gotten about 11 so far. Not sure where the freezing rain line will be for us. Being at the top of one of the highest parts of town, we usually get a few more inches then surrounding areas. Hopeing to get out on roof while it is still light snow, to get off solar panels.

Looks like about 7-8" here, as of 9am. We were only supposed to get 8-10" total, by midnight. It's still coming down fast, so we will probably get more than expected. No freezing rain changeover predicted here, so I think it's really going to pile up.

I love my commute (full-time work-at-home), but I also never get a snow day. Small price to pay, though.

Broke my leg skiing Dec 25 and a real PITA with all the snow that we have had here on Long Island. It is just too slippery while on crutches. The good news is my wife has been using our snow blower, and doing a great job - I of course supervise

Fortunately the snow missed up here. So all we have to contend with is double digit below zero temps.

At least the wind chill will make it seem even colder.

Unless it chnages back, we topped out at 11". Went from light fluffy to sticky heavy just as I finished....Light drizzle right now.

I went out this morning with the grand kidletts bubble soap, and poofed some out there to watch them freeze. He he he. It was 19*F out there.

I was standing on the porch, and the wind started whipping up, and the bubbles went to a fro. Once came back and hit the ground and busted into shards. The rest just blew over the house and vaporized from view. I will try it again tonight or tomorrow. Mrs. Dag has never seen that done before and I wanted to show her. She likes to call me out when she thinks I'm pulling on her pretty gams.

Tell me about it. It took me nearly 2 hours to shovel my car out of the snow so I could go to work at 5 am. Then I realized it was the wrong car.

So I decided to take a break and the snow was so heavy I could barely find my way inside the front door of my house. When I got under the covers in my bed to warm up, I noticed my wife's feet were so cold they had swollen up a size or two. Then I realized I was in my neighbor's house.

He was nice enough to let me stay there and warm up while he went to dig out his own car. I told his wife, if we're gonna do anything we better be quick. He won't be gone long. I think I already got his car.
