Mandate

Post by T8rSalad »

Gotcha...actually taking my grandson, Aidan, out for a men only feast at either Red Lobster or Applebee's. Looking forward to it and so is he. A little reward for his good school days.

I have no problem with a Mandate, you two enjoy. And tell Aidan your crazy friends say "Hi".

Well, good school performance demands a mandate of a celebratory guys night out.

Have fun, and keep the boy away from Inkleg. It's for his own good.

That picture would be worth 1 million words! I'm not going to dare you cuz I know you would send a pic of you decked out.

Tater, it's great you are having a men's night out but here we call it Dead Lobster. You'd die for all the good seafood we have here. But, pretend it's fresh and enjoy these moments you've been stressing over for a while. Time rolls by fast.

One main reason we had a mandate is the one on one time I love to spend with him because he needs a strong father figure in his life, which you-know-who did not provide. Aidan will be years in therapy working through his serious anger issues...he has mainly been abused since birth, either mentally or physically by his so-called father. My wife and I are trying to help him break this cycle that his father was in and then portrayed on his son (Aidan). I swear that I have spent more time playing, loving and traveling around with him in the past year or two than his father ever did in eight years. Hell, even JoeC has spent better and more quality time with Aidan.

Rant OFF

Aidan is actually my most feared homebrew critic as well...he always gives me two thumbs up!!!

T8r, just keep doing the right thing. It will pay off in the end, even if it does take a long time.

My favorite things to do with kids:

Fishing, jig saw puzzles, building models and or kites; all things that require patience, are entertaining and offer rewards upon completion.

When my brothers were kids they built and launched model rockets and loved it.

Seems like those kinds of activities/interactions between adults and kids don't happen any more.

T8r I'm posting this because your thread reminded me of a young boy about 11 or 12 out here whom I met at out POA fishing well. He walked from his home to fish by himself all the time and we would spend hours there talking.

The place was frequently full of grandfathers putting the worms on hooks for the young uns'. I was always sad that his Step dad never came with him. If it was raining his mom would "deliver" him or come pick him up.

It made my heart hurt.

You obviously didn't have the cheek-pinching old Uncle or the really fat Aunt that had to envelop you in her giant bosom with a hug.
