Competition anxiety

Post by FedoraDave »

Homebrew Alley VIII was held this past Friday and Saturday. I entered two beers, Bit O'Bitter, and Pearly Pils. I don't think any results will be posted online for a week or so, and I won't get the judges' sheets for another three or four weeks.

Man, I wish I knew what the results were! Next year, I'm going to try to get there for Saturday evening.

You think you're on pins and needles. How do you think we feel?

Looking forward to the results Dave. I'm sure you have done well.

I've never had any of your beers Dave but there's something that tells me very strongly that you have nothing to worry about. Your skill is high and you wouldn't have stuck with it this long if you were just average. You'll do fine, just wait and see. I just love being right all the time. :)

I know how you feel right now, Hat!! I'm also anxious, nervous, excited, etc. about Coconut Cup in Miami. And that's still almost 2 months away!

Anyway, I'm sure you're gonna do great. Because... you're the Hat! Best of luck!

Always anxious when brews head off to competitions. Even more so waiting on the score sheets.

Dave: Good fortunes are coming your way in 3-4 weeks. You have nothing to worry about. If you brew your beers the way you help us brew ours, me thinks of "WInner Winner Chicken Dinner". keep us posted and as always good luck in future events as well!!!

RDWHAHB !! I'm sure you will do fine based on how you've talked about these brews in the past. I too am getting nervous about my first competition entry. The 2014 Brewfest at Mt. Hope in Manheim PA. They are limiting this year to 200 entries with only 2 allowed per person. I have registered my Ed's Irish Red and Cowpie Porter. The judging is on May 10 and they said the results will be posted online that Monday, with judges sheets in about 2 weeks. there will be a BJCP judge on each flight.

Best of luck, Horse! If nothing else, you'll get a wealth of information from the judges' comments.

The results of Homebrew Alley VIII were posted online earlier today. I didn't win anything, and I elaborated in the "Competitions" forum, so I won't take up bandwidth here. It's always a fun and good experience. I'd like to attend their Saturday night to-do some year, if I'm able.
