I actually thought of getting that instead of the brew bucket but besides the cost, I have no way of using it for 6-7 months of the year as it's just too warm here and I can't chill it and don't have a spare fridge to use. But I do like that there are companies who are putting out new products with a bit lower costs involved.
Keep me posted.

Why would you secondary when you have a conical? You drop the yeast out from under the beer and that is your secondary. Also you really don't need to cold crash a beer anyway. I never have. Everything settles over the 2 weeks it ferments anyway and I get clear beers.

Ive thought about getting that as well before the wife starts paying more and more attention, but the brain keeps telling me I can get the 17 gallon for "ONLY" two hundred beans more....

I rarely cold crash, and when I do it is only a LBK batch since I really dont have any room or want to muck with changing a temperature schedule.

I don't regret getting mine at all. In fact I am contemplating buying one of these as a second one. Sometimes I brew two weeks in a row then package two weeks in a row. Last time I did that one brew went into my conical the other went into a bucket. I like the one you purchased better than mine because of the racking arm and more because of the relief valve. That makes it safer.

I see that they upped the price on their brewbucket, so I'm serious considering getting this thing. I also love my better bottle with the racking adaptor. If better Bottle increased the size of their carboys, they would absolutely kill it! Kind of tired of the whole blow-off thing for 5 gal batches though. I'm also looking at the Speidel fermenters.

Hmmm, wonder if we could get a volume discount? Mentioned it to SWMBO last nite and she didnt even flinch, even when I started talking upgrading to the 17 gallon one. Granted, I took her out for dinner and had a few Two Hearted and the new Sam Adams double IPAs in her, but maybe I should take advantage of the window of opportunity while I can (and she still remembers it)....

From the emails I got from SS Brewing Technologies, the Brew Bucket was always going to be more expensive once they worked a deal with a retailer. I think it was even mentioned in Zymurgy and BYO. That's why I grabbed it so fast. It's $50 more now so I feel better about my guilty feelings of spending money.

Mine should ship later this week or no later than next week from what I've been told.
