What a pain in the butt job but I just LOVE having 50lbs of Munich

I had to buy another 50 lb Vittles Bucket this weekend to store more grain. But I only buy 2 row in 50lb bags. The rest I get in 10.
What are you paying for 50 of Munich in your area and what brand?

Man, I can't even imagine having that much grain around. I still buy grains for each batch which requires planning and a trip to the LHBS. It would be nice to be able to brew on a whim by having those supplies on-hand but that requires space I just don;t have. It's time to move.

I got it from Midwestsupplies. With my 20% discount for not having purchased anything in a while it was $44.99. I don't know an exact dollar amount on the shipping. I also bought 15 pounds of Maris Otter and a bag of caps, the shipping came to $24.

My LHBS usually only offers 2 brands of 2 row....Great Midwestern and Briess. I prefer the GW over Briess but when they have Rahr, I grab that. Not sure what they have for MO and Munich and Vienna. But the last 2 times I bought online, Austin HB had a $6.99 shipping special but Midwestern didn't and that cost me $18 to ship. Even paying tax locally, the $43.92 they charge for the sack is still a better deal. But, I think I only paid $38 at Austin last year with the shipping deal.
I definitely save money buying in bulk. And, like Ron mentioned, keep some washed yeast and dry yeast in the fridge and I can brew on a whim.

All of what I bought was Briess. I really prefer Rahr for my 2 row as well. I use nothing but dry yeast and I have about a dozen packages of it in different varieties in the fridge.

Like BL says you need to shop around. It boils down to the shipping cost. Sometimes AIH is the best deal for me other time it is Northern. For me it usually comes down to those two. I do like AIH's reward program adds another discount for stuff!
