This one surprised me. I was expecting more an in your face IIPA, but I got a very smooth easy drinking IIPA. The color was a crystal clear light orange with a really frothy white head. The aroma is very interesting for an IIPA, it's actually malty and grainy at first. It smells like a bucket of grain at the LHBS a little bit. But then the hop aroma gets you, which isn't overpowering. The aroma is quite piney with hints of melon and bubblegum. I handed it to my wife to see what she thought and she said cotton candy. The bitterness is real nice for an IIPA. It's not in your face, but it lingers nicely. This is a very well balanced IIPA. One that you could drink quite a few of. That is, until the 9.0% ABV hits you. They do an outstanding job of hiding the alcohol in this. You would never guess it's 9%

This is a real tasty beer. This one makes the second one from Brew Kettle, and it's another really good beer.
