Sitting down having my coffee for the morning, watching the news, and checking out the BookFace, I stumble across one of the sponsored links to a page that caught my eye. A company called Brewing Tools has come out with the BeerBox as a packaging solution for homebrew. The standard kit comes with two 2.75-gallon BeerBoxes, along with CO2 cartridges, and dispensing equipment. What I like is the shape allows it to store in my brew fridge without being awkardly shaped and taking up more room than it should, and it also has a handle so it is quite portable, making it great for parties (or, of course, in-home consumption). I don't have room for kegs, so I think this seems like a great idea. What are your thoughts?

Much like my post in another thread, this isn't something I could be interested in. Well, maybe the 2 coasters and 2 stickers.

Yeah well, you have kegs!! The coasters are actually something I could care less about, lol. I know it's kind of like the Tap-A-Draft thing, but the shape is a lot more... ergonomic? fridge-friendly? And it's the right size for my batches.

Are there any reviews you find on this item? Might be a good idea to see what others think about it after using it awhile.My brief use of C02 injected mini kegs wasn't very good but it has been many, many years and like most things homebrew related, technology has helped make things better.
I think it's good they suggest natural carbonation as I would think that would work best. I would worry about leaking more than anything else.

Have you looked into the 2.5G corny kegs? The measurements on that are: 15" tall x 8.25" diameter. While it does require a taller shelf, it would give you a 'real' keg. If that's not an option, then this could be of interest for somebody strapped for room.

Kealia: I have looked into them. The volume is perfect, but the room is the killer part. I don't have a lot of vertical space. The depth of these BeerBoxes is what draws me to them most (aside from having built-in handles for transporting).

BL: I haven't checked any reviews on them yet, but I will certainly look them up. The hardware looks pretty solid, and I have no problem naturally carbing if that's better than force carbing. These vessels look like they'll be great to batch prime in if needed. Will let you know if I ever pull the trigger on this system

I'd go with a 2.5 gal corny, and a 2.5 pound co2 over this, or two 2.5 gal kegs and one co2. The 2.5 gal kegs on the AIH are slightly smaller than the italian corny ones and about $70 from what I remember.

For half that price I MIGHT think about it

I have to agree. Nice concept, but poor execution on the price point.

The other thing nice about a "real" keg system is you can force carb should you want to get the beer drinkable quicker.
