Another Saturday, another brewery tour

Tomorrow the twin and I and our wives are taking a 2 hour drive to Crooked Letter Brewery in Ocean Springs, MS. They make an awesome coffee stout that I'd kill to make. We're going to brag a bite, tour the brewery, have some tastes and come back.
I'm the designated driver so I may have to bring some back in a growler.

Sounds great, well except for the you being the DD part. Way to take one for the team. I'm sure they appreciate it and will reciprocate at a later time.
Looking forward to the follow up.

Sounds like fun for sure. Have you checked out Lazy Magnolia in Kiln, MS? We have not made the trip over but I have heard some good things about some of their brews.

Lazy Magnolia is planned on a future trip. It's actually only 50 minutes away and we could stop on the way back if we had time.....but we don't.
Love me some Timber Beast.

Nice. Sometime in the near future we are planning a "Gulf Coast" brewery trip heading over to New Orleans then back to Pensacola. Wife and I may head over to Fairhope, AL. today and visit Fairhope Brewery.

Let me know when you come so we can meet up and I'll treat for beers.
From a pretty big brewery last week at Abita to a very small one this week at Crooked Letter. Nice, nice folks. A nice 1 hour 45 minutes, a decent lunch than 90 minutes talking with guys and gals who took the tour.
The owners were out of town and one of the brewers did the tour. He was nervous, a tad bit poor at speaking in public but did explain the process they use. They purchased a custom 80,000 bottling system as they are now ready to bottle and it's not working right. Hope they have a warranty.
$5 gets you 6, 6 oz tasters. Not bad. They are all very good beers. They had some only sold at the local casino and the double IPA was good but the regular IPA was better. All their beers or 6.5% and 7% except one 'regular drinking' beer. Their stout is very, very good and I can't say enough about their coffee porter. An awesome beer.
Here's a few pics of this very small but I think, soon to grow brewery.

I feel ganged up on and now I'm going to have to have many beers to get over the emotional trauma.
Let me see, what should I have first? Ghost? Pallet Wrecker? Woot? Blind Pig Clone? Some of paul's awful lot? These are tough tough times.

So what you're saying Chuck is that beer is cheaper than therapy?
Glad y'all had a good trip. Maybe the problem with bottling line is the boom box is playing the wrong music.

Thanks for sharing those pictures. I see their small batch/pilot system in the background of the first picture I believe. ... SWMBO and I went over to Fairhope, Al. and visited the Fairhope Brewing Company yesterday. Sampled their APA, Amber and Brown Ales. Their Brown Ale was one of the more smoother brown's I have had in some time -- Very tasty. The Amber was a little darker than any other amber I had seen or tasted lately, though it was good. Their APA was literally spot on with ours and I thought I was drinking beer I brewed.
Yes, we should definitely link up when we make the trip over your way. Sounds like a plan

Looking forward to it.
I use to go to Pensacola every summer but haven't been back in years. Also spent lots of summers in Orange Beach. I think I'll have a reason to come visit you one day when you're up and running.
