Burner Overkill?

So, a little while back I earned a little money by replacing a water heater for an older couple. Their house runs on Natural Gas, but the water heater came with a burner for Propane. Well, I have the burner in my possession, and I have a friend (who also brews) that works at a steel fabricator. A custom burner may be in the works. What does the :borg: think about a water heater burner for a brew burner?

If possible, check the BTUs. It could be too low to heat quickly? just a thought.

What size water heater is it?
50 Gallon would be 38K BTU probably
40 gallon about 36K BTU
I think you said your doing 2.5 gallon batches?
Thats plenty

I don't remember if it was a 30 gallon or a 40 gallon. And, the posted BTU on the water heater, is that the actual burner BTU?
