Tomorrow I'll finally get to try Stone's Go To. Also, will have some Founders Centennial IPA (beer 2 years since I've had this) and Founders All Day IPA. Plus, Hoppy Poppy IPA and my brothers Bald Spot IPA. I hope we don't mess up brew day by having 3 too many!

Sounds like a great line up.

Rules at my house are "Brewer does not drink till after the hot break".

We won't expand on how this rule came about.

Well, call me a rebel but if we don't start until noon, that just ain't happening! But its not my house so I don't make the rules. But I can break em!

Oh, if it's not your house, then you are not the "Brewer". Drink on my friend. :clink:

I am the holder and author of the recipe. My child shall be conceived tomorrow and birth will follow about 3 weeks later. Oh, the analogies I could bore you with here but I shan't.
Friends are welcome though. The beer list is growing as I type this too!

I can't brew unless I've got a beer in my hand. I can't say if I usually wait until hot break, but it would make sense. I usually have enough time to dump the grains, wash the tun, and put it away before I'm even close to break, so it wouldn't make any sense to pour a beer before I've done all that anyway.

Post your thoughts on the GoTo in that thread - I'm curious to see how you like it.

My saying has been "To make beer, you have to drink beer." But, I do keep them sessioinable since I have to carry that hot pot down to the basement and always have a mental image of me slipping and dumping all the sweet wort on the chairs and couch at the base of the stairs.

Regarding All Day IPA I love the fact that it now comes in cans. Makes it much easier (and lighter) to throw a few in the pack when out for a hike. And, there is something satisfying about squashing cans....

as far as my brew days go, I like to start early. the way I see it if I get the water heated up by 730 am and then crack a home brew there is no way I can drink to many before I start the transfer into the fermenter and pitch. I stay so bizzy that I can not get buzzy enough to mess it up. now after I pitch the yeast it's another story.
