I brewed a batch of Adventures in Homebrewing Amber Alert on 4/20 (hmm, Easter, I knew there was something special about it). Anyway, I just took a gravity reading with a refractometer and got a corrected reading of 1.007! The OG is 1.056. Is this even possible? Thank you for the collective wisdom.

Yes it is possible. Magic happens with the numbers 4-20 people say. I wouldn't know.

Posted a while back and I think I even used the same title, seems there is a spell of this going around the Borg.

Probably should pull a sample on my Summer Honey-Lemon Wheat I brewed on 4/20, seeing as I used the washed US-05 yeast from my SMaSH that finished .006 better than expected! 1.056 to 1.005!

So, this is the beer I brewed with the WLP001 I resurrected after it was two months out of date. I threw it in a starter on 4/18 (Good Friday, go figure) and by 4/20 it was up and active, so I pitched the whole thing into my 2.5gal batch. OG was 1.056. I think maybe I'll call this Hawk's Easter Ale: Break this Bread and give thanks.

Well, this batch turned out great. Super clear, tastes great, and a solid hoppy slap in the face. I don't see this one lasting very long.
