One step tip

I use One Step as well as Star San. I have a wallpaper glue tray that sits along the back of the counter while I brew. I fill it with an inch or so of one step, and I put my spoons, sample tube and hydrometer, thermometers, and things there to keep them sanitized. Well one thing that slows me down is waiting for the dang stuff to dissolve. I did something on a whim last night and was pleasantly surprised. I added the 22 g or so of One Step to about 250ml of water in a little flask and set it on my stir plate and let it stir while I got everything else ready to go. I wish I would have timed it but after a few minutes, it was dissolved in the water and I just put that solution in the gallon jug and filled it up the rest of the way. I'm sure my stirring bar got sanitized, but it made short work of dissolving One Step.

Just a silly little tip for One Step.

I did this again last night only I used my 2 L flask with about a liter of water. It dissolved even faster. Takes about 5 minutes to make a batch of one-step.

Thanks Monster for this very helpful tip...this has always been a pet peeve for me and I usually do 2.5 gal batches. There is always that wait time so I always try to remember to get the one step into water one of my first steps in either brewing or bottling. Info I can use and it is very much appreciated.

:thanks: Monty

Cool, its one of those, 'why didn't I try that sooner' type things. I no longer dread making it. :)
