BeerBorg User Map

Post by Crazy Climber »

https://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF& ... 2f9f4cba02

Feel free to add yourself to the map of BeerBorg users, if you're so inclined. Let's fill the map with The Assimilated!

Instructions on how to do so (thanks to RickBeer) --

Click on the above link.
Navigate using the map (NOT by typing in your address). Use the +/- and move around and zoom in. Find a spot NEAR your home, but not your home (for privacy).
Click on EDIT on the top right of the list of the left window.
Go back to map, right click on the location and pick "Add a Placemark".
Under Title, pur your name. Optionally, you can add your location's name in the description.
On the icon field, click on it, then My Icons, and pick one.
Click Ok, then click Done on the left side.

Yes, this is NOT the same map -- that full one was the Mr. Beer forum map, and was started a couple of years ago. Lots of "stale info" is on that map. I decided to create a new one for THIS forum. The intent was to represent the "rebirth" of the Borg with a fresh new, up-to-date map.

Totally optional, obviously. If you want to add a marker for yourself, feel free. If not, no worries. It's beer.

D'oh! Didn't realize that a Google account was needed to edit. When I set it up, I chose a setting "let anyone edit" -- silly me, I thought Google meant ANYONE....not "anyone with one of our accounts."
I should've known better.

mtsoxfan and whynot are added.

Thanks.... On my cell it says I have a google + account, but for the life of me I can't remember the password. I must have 6 million accounts out there that require passwords....

I volunteer to add anyone who does not have a Google account. Just post your location or ZIP code, or PM me if you prefer.

For you, dag, it might make sense to wait until you settle Down Undah. It'll be cool to have an international flavor to our map (although it will cause it to zoom way out at startup).
What's your Aussie mail code going to be?

Once there is a full list of names on page 1 and it goes to page 2, you'll find that the map only displays icons for those on the page you're on.

I added a beer mug icon.
