OK, quick update:

The link to view the map is:
https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid= ... a9NucPxl4c

Currently, RickBeer and I are the "authorized" editors; the Keepers of the Borg Map, as it were. :)

Anyone who wants to be added, you can either post your location info (zip preferably, can be more vague if you want) to this thread, or PM either Crazy Climber or RickBeer and we'll get you added.

Right. Unfortunately, Google had made it so "easy" to edit maps that you could edit things you didn't realize you were editing. SoonerMike was put into the middle of the Pacific somehow, and until I got him back in Oklahoma he looked like this:

If you are in the wrong location, let us know and we can easily fix it. For example, DRabbit is on here twice.

Also, if you mistakenly put your marker exactly on the spot you live (i.e. you zoomed in and put the marker on your house), let us know and we'll move it a bit. There are some unscrupulous characters on the forum, not to mention names (JoeChiante) that would like nothing better than to supplement their homebrew supply by absconding with yours...

My thinking is: over time, Rick and I will thin out the markers of those who long ago put their markers on the map, and have since "moved on" and no longer participate in the Borg. It would make sense to have the map represent the CURRENT membership of the Borg, rather than the membership as of 2013, for example.

And yeah, there's that Joe Chianti issue...don't want to make it any easier for him to abscond with precious homebrew than it already is!

Remember also that anyone can view this map - Borg members, people who live in foreign countries like Canada, etc. It is not private to Borg members.

Right - the edit function has been restricted to myself and Crazy Climber to try and keep the map from getting messed up. If you want us to add you, or move you, or delete you, send either of us a PM.

Bumping this thread, in light of the recent influx of MBF refugees.
We have a map of BeerBorg users, for those who wish to share their location (usually to the zip code level....street address would be a bit too private, but it's up to you).
For reference, the map is at:
https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid= ... a9NucPxl4c

If you want to have yourself added, either post the info about your location to this thread (zip, city/state, lat/long, whatever you want), or PM either myself or RickBeer (memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=95), and we'll get you added!
