Update on Mosaic and Nelson Sauvin!
Posted: Tue Jun 17, 2014 6:26 am
This is what I finally settled on as far as the recipe goes!
This is quite a tasty beer! It has plenty of citrus nose and flavor with just a hint of a bitter finish.
Picture is after an unintended aggressive pour.
As most homebrew goes, it get's better as it gets warmer, but this also picks up a fair amount of a roasted note
to the nose.
It's amazing the perception of IBU's and I'm wondering if it's just a thing with Beersmith.
This came in, by the program's estimation, at 85 IBU's and I find it hard to believe.
I've had other beer's with far less IBU's and they were quite a bit more bitter than this one.
SWMBO loves this and has asked for another batch, and she is not a hop head by any means!
Most of the time my additions are pretty much the same as this recipe, and these are some pretty strong hops.
Would type of hops have anything to do with it?
Any ideas on that?
Thanks BORG!
