Beautiful animals.

I had a manager who was a native of Pakistan and he once said to me, "You know why they call the lion the King of Beasts? Because they hadn't seen a tiger yet." I think there's a lot of truth to that statement. They really are majestic.

I'd post pictures and videos of Duncan, but he's all black, so he doesn't photograph well. But he wants everyone to know that he's a panther.

That's totally how Duncan sees himself.

Unless he wants his belly rubbed.

My cat likes his belly rubbed. Exactly 4 or 5 times. If you exceed the exact number of times he makes a soft but hideous sound. If you rub one more time then that then he claws the shit out of you.

Our panther, named Salem but goes by the nickname Moo, likes to roll on his side and stretch out in front of you, inviting you to come over and pet his furry belly. But as soon as you do, he assaults your hand with tooth and nail. And if by chance you are wary and can move your hand fast enough to avoid his attacks, you mustn't taunt him or he will attack your feet. We have a sign over the door, warning unsuspecting visitors: Beware the Moo-by Traps!

If you KNOW it's a trap, why, pray tell, do you keep falling for it?

I don't know if it's youse guys' cats what are weird, or Duncan what's weird, but he'll take belly time for as long as you're willing to give it. I've had to brace myself with a hand on the counter in order to keep rubbing his belly with my foot some mornings. He can't get enough of it.

Also, Inkleg, does your comment imply that your cat has fur on the INside?

Because Yankee, it's so damn inviting. The only thing that would make it more irresistible would be a sign reading "Free Beer". :give:

My cat Ingrid is the best cat in the world. Don't even think that your cat comes close.

All pay homage to my cat Ingrid. Image

She's beautiful, Tom.

Duncan is a good-lookin' cat, too, he's just not photogenic. And he's a lovable sweetheart, too, so that's a plus.

This is what happens when you make kitty angry.

You guys do realize that the only difference between a house cat and a lion or tiger is size. After growing up with cats all my life I am firmly convinced that the average house cat would eat its owner if only it were a bit bigger. I had a large tomcat growing up and I swear sometime he would look at me trying to decide whether he would try to take me down.
