When I priced the Used 5 gallon Ball Lock Kegs, shipping said $12.85 for me for one keg, total $72.80 which isn't too bad anymore. $38.55 shipping for 3, total $218.40. I wouldn't think the shipping would be a straight per keg charge on the same order, but either way, $72.80 per keg shipped is pretty good. Especially since my LHBS is charging $74.99...

Got one of those from them last sale they had, it was a nice keg. The tangs for the lid bale were popped on one end on both sides, the tack weld did not hold, and was shipped fedex, can't stand them for shipping. I contacted Beverage Elements and they sent another lid assy out and I had a buddy tig the straps down. So I have a spare lid now. They say blemished but useable so it may be scratched or dented or also they say the ball lock fitting may go on hard.

I solved the shipping $ issue on Friday. Got lucky and picked up 3 cornies off Craigs List for $50 each! Only had to go 20 miles out of my way to pick them up. Now that I have 5 kegs, I should be set for the foreseeable future. CL finally paid off for me! :jumpy:  :jumpy:

  Now that's funny right there. Keep looking, I have 10 and beginning to think that's not enough.

Great score on your CL find though. :clink:

Got 7 and think I'm good for awhile. Can't drink all the beer I do have but I'm going to die trying. Used ones are getting harder and harder to find. At least gently used ones. But, new ones are awesome and are coming down in price.

My 2 came in yesterday
Filled the 5 gallon with a Pilsner this morning
Got a PA for the 3 gallon Sunday
Now I need more kegs
I only have 4
1 half full
1 full and lagering
1 will be full Sunday
and the last one will be filled tues or wed
And Ive got a lager and a dunkle fermenting right now

But I do like these kegs better than the "coke" kegs I got from AIH

I actually like the old soda kegs vs. new. I like the rubberized top and bottom, how the top handles protect the gas and beer inlet/outlets, two handles for easy transport... and I'm not OCD about having to keep new ones new... That is key for me, as I know I would try exactly that... :jumpy:

Good point. I thought 2 would be enough when I started kegging, but the "I need more kegs!" feeling started almost immediately. My oracle powers may prove to be wrong once again...
