Clearing out the pipeline

Lately I've been clearing out the pipeline. Going through a lot of the earlier batches that I've been hoarding. Now that I'm making better beer going AG, I'm saying goodbye to my earlier extract beers. I only have 3 bottles of my "Krampus Ale" that was a modified Mr. Beer kit, that I'm saving for Christmas. I have a lot of empty bottles that I need to fill now!

I-B, I'm mixing some of my old extract batches with better beer to fix them. I'm also working through some good, but strong stuff by sharing. Today I gave two sailing buddies tastes of my recent Pale and Amber, also last year's Belgian. They loved the Belgian, I'm glad, because at 8.2%, it's a sipping beer. I don't think I've had one of those at a meal.

I've been doing the same, although not all grain. Had at one point 17 different beers, then 14. Now 11, and 1 of them is basically done. Plan on making two batches that I already have, so I'll be around 10 different brews with limited supplies on many of them. Sad, but then I open a White House Honey Porter and smile.

Same here. Have 15+ (or had) different types and trying to whittle it down to something more manageable. I have been dividing up the pantry beer area between long term aging on one side and drinking & short term aging on the other. With two house brews always on tap, bottles will now be more for special brews, long term aging, and seasonals. Well, and mad scientist experiments done in the LBK.

I will be doing the same as soon as work slows. Unfortunately it will be a sad thing. I am afraid that beers other than my Christmas ales will be seeing the drain due to old age :( :( :(

No Bob, say it ain't so!

I've had perfectly good ones at 14 months.

If you need to get rid of some, tomorrow I'm heading west on 696 with my basically empty pickup truck (back to Ann Arbor) if you need to offload some...
