RedBEERd is brewing a Racer 5 clone Sunday and I'm doing the starter and though we only a 1.5 l starter but since I got a new 3L flask and a serious stirplate from Australia to keep it spinning, I wanted to test it out and still have enough yeast to keep for another brew later.

I seem to have a bad case of GAS and got a great deal on this and couldn't turn it down. Plus, I can actually pay for this in less than a year with all the extra yeast I can make and don't have to actually do this as often. At least that's the plan.

OUCH! I really didn't need to see that post....but I know you guys are pretty closeInkleg wrote:Nice Paul, I like the size of your equipment.

Paul made one mistake in his post.......I'm not brewing; WE ARE. I don't do this stuff alone...don't have enough confidence yet and besides, I don't like drinking alone. I stretch these things out for a few hours just to make sure I get to try more beers.
There's also another added benefit....if the beer turns out to be nasty etc, I can blame him.

And the only cure is MORE HOPS!

So by default you like the twin's, too right?Inkleg wrote:Nice Paul, I like the size of your equipment.
I know most people fantasize about twins but.....
Yep, that's a big starter - we want video!
Re: Big A$$ starter
I'll see if I can get some video after work. It's all boring stuff watching yeast procreate. I know its yeast porn but since I have an yeast affection, I'm immune to yeast porn.
If Jeff had to hang with the 2 of us, I know for sure he'd be talking about it for a long, long time. Most of it not good but he'd still have something to talk about.
Back to the starter, 12 hours later (this morning) it was already a good way thru doing its 'bidniss' so I should have time to cold crash this sucker and decant.
