Goodell's statement

He made some needed remarks but he spun most of the questions put to him like a cheap, vested suit politician. I don't like him but putting my feelings aside, he's just in repair mode. I think he actually thought a mea culpa would allow things to just move on. That's not going to happen. I bet he's gone by the time the Super Bowl is over if not sooner.

I told BB2 that I bet Condoleeza would end up as the next commish. All the good ole boy one percenter team owners thinking they were being politically correct.

Oh well, like ChuckN, I've been getting tired of the money grubbing, commercializing, dumbing down side of football for several seasons anyway. I've pulled the plug on cable and don't watch much tv anyway so if I give up football it will save a few more bucks on the electric bill.

This whole thing is just a big dead whale on the beach, the stink just keeps getting worse while no one wants to take responsibility for cleaning the mess up.

I wouldn't cry if Ol' Rog took a dive. Before all this flap, I was just "meh" about him, but now he's revealed himself to be a money-grubbing, power-hungry, image-driven weasel (apologies to the weasels).

I think Condy would be a good NFL commish, actually. And, for that matter, I've always thought Mario Cuomo would make a good MLB commish. He knows the game, loves it, and knows how to handle people and PR, and he has a conscience.

Did you see the Howard Stern guy crash the party? Kinda funny how he yelled "Don't put me in the elevator". :)
