Special Delivery

A couple of weeks ago my neighbor was having a yard sale so walked over to see what treasures he had on his tables. I noticed that he had a postal scale still in the packaging with the max weight of 10 lbs. I thought that this scale would be good for weighing hops and grains and for $10 it would be a good buy. Unfortunately I had no money with me so I planned to return later to get it. Well I got side tracked and forgot to go back to get it. Today while I was cleaning my garage my neighbor appeared in my drive way carrying the scale. He said that he had taken everything he didn't sell to the Goodwill but remembered me eyeing the scale so he held on to it to give to me!
. I was totally surprised and thrilled at the same time! This will really be nice to have as I do more AG brewing.

I have a vision of beer in his future.
Nice story, thanks for sharing.

That's awesome! And it's gotta be accurate, since it's from the USPS.
PS: I love Belma hops!

Gonna have to call that first beer you used the scale on "postal brew".

It's probably calibrated to show a few ounces heavy. Just so they could get more in postage. Better check it.

Well the Belma hops that are shown in the picture are actually 2 oz and the scale is confirming that so I seems pretty accurate. I also weighed a 1 lbs package of ground round, 3 lbs pork roast. and all came out pretty good. My 9 lbs cat wouldn't sit still long enough to get her weighed though so I may need to find something else that's not so lively!

I know I love my scales, I win an awful lot of arguments with BB2 on what I SEE vs. what he SAYS on brew day.
