Nashville - An Open Invite to All

Earlier this month Beer-lord, Inkleg, Kealia and I were trading some PM's. Later that night I was sitting at the table eating dinner with my wife and telling her about some of the messages. We were both laughing. I said to her..."I wish I lived closer to these guys, I would really love to meet them in person". I mentioned to her that Nashville would be a perfect spot. A 6 hour drive for me, and maybe a couple more than that for Beer-lord and Inkleg. Kealia would have to fly....but that's what he gets for living so far away
.
So, later that evening, it was back to the PM's and I make a mention of this stupid idea in passing. Beer-lord says that it's a great idea but his work schedule is tough in the summer. Inkleg chimes in and says...my wife will be in Nashville for a conference late January/early February and maybe that time could work.
Long story short......the trip is on!!!!
In just a few short days after the initial comment, we had hotel rooms booked and flights booked. So far Beer-lord, RedBEERd, Inkleg and I are committed. Kealia is trying hard, but his schedule may be an issue for him. We also included swenocha in the mix since he is a Nashville native. We have exchanged many a PM talking/laughing/planning this trip and decided that we wanted to open up the invite to anyone that would be interested in going.
Our plans are to arrive on Friday, January 30th and depart on Tuesday, February 3rd. We plan on hitting some of the many craft breweries that Nashville has to offer and even bringing some of our own to do a tasting/swap of the homebrew. And of course, we'll watch the Super Bowl that Sunday together also.
So...consider yourself invited. You can either post here, or shoot anyone of us a PM if your interested. Should be a fun time that's for sure. And it's a good thing it will probably be cold outside.....Beer-lord will have to cover his legs up and no kilts for Inkleg.

I thought it was my idea.
Come one, come all. We've already contacted Homeland Security and we've been cleared. It's also SuperBowl weekend and the Saints........will be on vacation too.
It would be great if anyone else can make it even if it's for a short visit. There has been no definite agenda set up but I guess we should get Swen's help for some type of timetable in early January.
It will be great fun even if I'm going and they'll be much to share here when it's over.
We're also thinking about brewing some beers to send/take to Swen's so that we can do a simple beer tasting/critique. It's not Borg-ish if we didn't share some homebrew too!
Thanks to the other guys for making this happen and to Swen who's been full of knowledge and info.

I'm interested, going to mention to the wife.
PM hotel info to me, we would probably drive after work Friday and come in the rest of the way Saturday morning.

See RickBeer I told you they talk about us behind our back.
I'm telling you buddy they are plotting something devious.
Are there enough cops in Nashville to control the resulting chaos of a
gang invasion??
I think BB2 and I go through Nashville on the way to Roanoke but since we haven't sold the house we sit here...and wait...and wait...

Wow, I was just thinking the other day how cool it would be to have a Borg Meet Up. I'm so glad you guys included me from the start!
It's only about 8 hr drive for me to Nashville and although I don't know what my work schedule will be for the Jan 30/Feb 2 weekend I am going to try to make it!
Maybe one of you moderators could make this an Sticky/Announcement?

If you all wouldn't mind having a freshly turn 21 year old (I'm an old soul, but October 20th was the day!) along for the fun, Nashville is only about 3 hours from here. Due to school and work I probably would only be able to stop by for Saturday, but it sounds like fun! I'd have to wait till the day gets closer to be sure about my schedule of course

Great idea! But, I won't be there. I've watched every Superbowl (but two) since 1979 with my old room-mate. And we'll be hoping to travel in february too, somewhere warm. Have fun, take pictures.

I'm not sure my 23 year old son would want to hang out with 'old folks' but I'm not sure how old all these guys I'm meeting with even are....not that it matters.
Like I said, come one, come all. When the numbers are tallied, we can figure things out where we can all meet on those times that everyone is available. Lots of time to decide.

You had me until honky tonks....what, no Pink Floyd, Zep and Ozzy?
Now who's old?
Swen, you're doing a great job and it's only turned to 1. Can't wait when we turn it up to 11 (yep, another old thing!)

Oh, there is more than country down Broadway, my friend... lots of good rock/alt/jazz/r&b as well. For example, Foo Fighters are playing tomorrow night at the Mother Church, and Jack White always has something going on around town. National Underground is owned by Gavin DeGraw and his brother. Hayley from Paramore lives right down the street from me, and Kings of Leon and the Black Keys are from here as well. Lots of great music to be had... country, yes... but also any other genre that interests.
