hi
the mr beer kits can sometimes benefit from a dextrin malt steep to improve head retention and body. I was wondering ... i'll be doing a brew demon kit soon with added ume. would the UME add body and head retention? or do they not suffer the same issues as mr beer?
thanks

Remember, the old MrB HMEs are what Brew Demon is using. I would have to say that when brewing any extract brew a steep will give those improvements.

I would have to agree. I'm doing the 6 gallon Twisted Monk this afternoon and plan on steeping some carapils for that very reason.

I have always added grain in a steep or pm when using extract. The difference is a finished beer can be amazingDaYooper wrote:Remember, the old MrB HMEs are what Brew Demon is using. I would have to say that when brewing any extract brew a steep will give those improvements.

I think that was a game changer moment for a whole lot of us. That point when you go from "I can make good beer" to "I can make GREAT beer!"braukasper wrote:I have always added grain in a steep or pm when using extract. The difference is a finished beer can be amazing
