On the stout hunt

Not real sure what type of stout I'm going to do but it's up next. Just tasted my last stout, Big Honkin Stout, and it's very good when old. But, I want something different. Might do a vanilla stout or just stick to an oatmeal stout but I want some serious roastiness in it.
Throw something at me and I'll tell you if it sticks.

I was holding them until a very chilly night before I try it. I know what the RIS is but what's the RBS again?
I'd go grab one now but I'm already feeling like bedtime.....if'n you know what I mean. Me thinks I had too much with no calories in my body.

Might I suggest Samuel Smith's organic chocolate stout? Tastes like dessert! Although Old Rasputin is my favorite RIS.

Old Rasputin is the bomb! I doubt anything I made could do it half the justice.
I'm thinking a Vanilla Stout or Vanilla Oatmeal Stout.

The RBS is Rum Barrel Vanilla Stout. This is the Vanilla Stout recipe I used, just added the rum, because, well why wouldn't you ;) . The all grain is on page two.

I have a "Stout" going that I just racked to secondary. I used a generic "Dry Stout" recipe but subbed some homemade "long roast snap malt" for the roasted barley. Largely just to see what the "long roast" malt was like. It's looking to be brown rather than black and with a lot more flavor than roasted barley, but still "roasty". I did a FWH for the hop addition.

Dry Stout, Oatmeal Stout, Milk Stout, it's all good.

I've been meaning to make a LBK sized batch of this since I KNOW the wife wont have anything to do with it:

Then again, when Thing One finds out I have this on tap I will never be able to get rid of him so I just may need to do a 5g batch just so I will get some.
