Hello to my Borg family. Got back home from the house hunting trip last night.
Watching the news and been worried about our brethren out west; everybody okay? Looks like quite a mess.
We ended up renting a house as there wasn't much on sale while we were in Roanoke. The market slows quite a bit in the winter.
Can't wait to get moved; the area is beautiful, the people were all very friendly, and best of all it was very easy getting around and the drivers aren't all maniacs.
Got 2 weeks to pack up and then we're off again.
Lucked out with great weather in both directions and hoping for the same on the next trip. Some of the roads were ridiculously horrid and traffic was truly scary in some spots.
Hope to be brewing by the end of next month. Only one place where we ate offered brews from the locals which was disappointing.
Going to trade home brew for fly fishing lessons from our realtor's hubby.

No landslide, no trees down on my hillside. Power was out for a day & a night for some of my co-workers.

Checking in and all is good. Honestly, we've had storms like this for years but it's just now getting more media coverage due to social media. We live prepared all winter long - but thanks for asking!

Glad to hear you both came through okay.
Hitting the news in hotel rooms randomly while checking on our travel weather and they were making it sound pretty bad out there.
I think I did see that you are getting some good snow in the Sierras which helps your drought relief... at least a little.

Hope daughter/other half did not loose power. They have been out of town for a while (HI), returning this morning. Sure will make for a stinky return if the fridge/freezer was down... glad I'm not gonna be there to open the door... LOLRebel_B wrote:No landslide, no trees down on my hillside. We just returned from being away for a week -- mostly a business trip for me. A few years ago we had lost power for 5 days here in the Sierra foothills during a winter storm. This time the clocks are not even blinking.
