What, you don't remember the thread I started for this?
My favorite part:
(And I beat Beer-lord to posting this!)

I remember that quote but not the thread. I guess I could save embarrassment and delete this post but I'll let it stay to honor my stupidity.
So, did you tell me you tried this? If so, I'll feel double stupid.

LOL, no. I just heard about it and had to post before you did! It's the Gluten-free beer.

If I do that, how will people know how stupid I am?
No one really has to answer that question.

He's a great reviewer and very entertaining to watch.
My issue with most West Coast IPA reviews is that they all sound the same to me, or fall into 3 categories:
1) Orange/Lemony with a biscuity/malty presence
2) Tropical fruit with a biscuity/malty presence
3) Dank with a biscuity/malty presence
It's hard to tell one from another if you don't catch the name of the beer upfront.
And, I'm sure I am guilty of these same reviews

I very seldom get orange in west coast IPA's. I get pine, pine, pine. This guy, as much as I enjoy him, must have the taste buds of a god. He pulls things out I just never get.
My friends and I make fun of him all the time.

This guy is entertaining.
"some candied orange rind in there" What in the world is that, has anyone ever eaten a candied orange rind?

His taste buds > my taste buds.

One of my beer buddies came over last night and brought me a sizer of this - just because. (Yes, we all need more friends like him!).
It's.....frickin' delicious! It pours a beautiful clear, slightly orange color (very much like my avatar pic) with a nice head and medium carbonation. It smells wonderful. Not dank like Enjoy By, and certainly in the citrus arena. I'm still not sure I pick up candied orange rind but there's a lot of fruity citrus-y goodness in there. It's flavorful for sure and it's as easy to drink as a session IPA in terms of not feeling full. It must be that reduced gluten
It finishes a bit drier than some of their stuff and the finish reminds me of Stone's GoTo (which ironically IS their session IPA). I had no idea it was 7.7% until I was almost done with the second one. It was so good and easy to drink that we just kept chatting and pouring and before I knew it I had polished off two of them (and on a work night, too).
I wasn't thinking about reviewing this while I was drinking it since he surprised me by coming over and springing these on me. We watched the NFC Championship game, drank a few and had a good time so I'm working from memory. I have 2 left over that I will drink soon and I'll make it a point to take pictures and see what specifics I can pull out.
In the meantime, if you like IPAs I think you'll love this. It's not as strong as something like an Arrogrant Bastard or rip-your-face-off bitter BUT it is no doubt an IPA and has a bitter finish and presence to it. It's not a gateway IPA.
