REPORTED ISSUES: Redirects to other websites.

Several people have reported issues over the last few days with attempting to click on posts to view them and being redirected to other websites. The websites seem to be different depending on the person and don't seem to be the same for anyone. I've run a couple of scans on the website and check it with my Google Webmaster tools and there are no security issues with the site/forum and I have been unable to recreate the issue myself. I did check with the hosting company to see if they have had any issues or can see any problems and the also didn't see any issues with the site/forum. They did suggest (and it was my suspicion too) that the affected people may have clicked on a link here in the forum that caused their browser to be highjacked and redirected to other websites.
If this happens or as happened to you, clearing your web browser's cache seems to help if that doesn't help you will need to wipe you browser history and reset your browser. If that doesn't help you might need to search Google for other solutions or seek help elsewhere.
I wish I could be of more help but I do
caution you about posting links to or clicking on links that may not be secure. I assure you though that Beerborg.com including the forum is safe and secure from any maleware.

I think Brewbirds is behind this. Or that rascal Joe Chiante...
Seriously, if you aren't running current antivirus software on your computer, you should. Microsoft Security Essentials is free -
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/wind ... s-download. Companies like Comcast provide free packages also, I think Comcast currently offers Norton.

I'll be darned if I can remember the name of it, but there is a virus that does that too you. Had it happen a few months back, was a royal pain in the backside. Finally got it removed, but it took a while. It did it to me an all websites, not just here.

FWIW y'all I been using this for several years now in conjunction with my anti virus(AVG). The freeware finds stuff AVG misses. If you got problems, it's worth a shot IMO

FWIW:
There is various software that comes bundled with some "freeware" or other program installs these days - even from what used to be reputable sites to get software - that can turn words on a web site into links and then those words will redirect you to external sites. The software in question is not technically virus, or not even "malware" in that you actually are installing it with permission by leaving a check box checked during the freeware install process. Depending on your virus scanner manufacturer, they may or may not categorize such software as malware because you do actually opt in by ignoring some little check box somewhere in the install process.

I use Superantispyware AND Malwarebytes regularly on all my computers, both home and office and they do a good job. They both offer a decent, free version.

A lot of these malwares are browser specific Google your browser & ver#. Comcast supplies Norton. Norton does not remove this one. I had it a couple of days ago. I do not where. I no longer use "FREEWARE" or "TORRENTS" There a couple of major issue with torrents: 1. Viruses, Malware & Spyware 2. The owners of the software, video, ETC are often adding a little code to harvest the "IP Address" that is downloading it. The owner is then suing the owner of the "IP Address"
I will be adding a thread about the issue I am having.

I have tried deleting all the cookies. Thinking the problem maybe my browser. However a search of my emails show that the last email from the Borg was on 9/10/2014. Also wouldn't I have received the notifications on my phone or tablet? Is there a way to delete my settings on the Borg servers?

Okay Wait!!!! So the first time I log in after getting internet service in my new location AND the first thing I do is check in on my Borg family and I find that I am being blamed for an attack
I, ME, MOI.
NO FAIR!!! I was driving through a winter event that got named at the time.

I could not get my dogs out of the car for pee breaks on the highway and you blame me for trouble.
RB I have been warned (by one of your victims

) and my ally that I will find a few spots where you took advantage of our absence. I am on my way to the rest of the threads I've missed.
