Bad Beer?

one wonder what the hell they fermented the beer in?

RedBEERd sent that link to me earlier today. I thought I had also heard they are looking at the containers as the culprit but were not sure.
That's scary stuff.

I've seen an article that states that people that drank the beer earlier were fine but those that drank it later got sick. Also that the type of "poison" (if any) that was added is speculation at this time. Samples were sent out for testing with the results forthcoming (per the articles). There should be an update as quite a few news sources have run stories.

It should be pretty much impossible to get sick from properly fermented beer (anything above 2% abv and/or soured beer that used to be 2% abv before acetobacter ate the alcahol). The alcohol and/or PH changes eliminate pathogens. That's why fermentation is a magic, pre-refrigeration preservation method. It might taste like shit but it shouldn't make you sick. So tampering seems likely to me.
