My homebrew roots

I think I've shared my dumb PAB's logo that was redrawn and updated many years ago. Tonite I found the original artwork dated 1982! Wow, I'm old!
This was the original line drawing a friend did for me a bit after she tried my beer and said it made her lips numb. Back then, I'm glad that's all it did. What I didn't know could fill an ocean.
There's actually more to the story but it's not very interesting so I'll just leave that be and share this very old drawing.

Always interesting to find one of these blasts from the past. I'm sure the memories came flooding back.

And it's good you got back into homebrewing and overcame your ignorance. Too many people give it try, aren't pleased with the result, and then give up rather than overcome. Your willingness to learn and improve is admirable.

It does bring back good memories and those were some good times with lots and lots of great friends, many of which have gone on to other things and who I rarely see.
Its such an ugly 'logo' too. But, those were fun times and were before life's responsibilities took over and hobbies had to take many steps back. I think I always knew I'd come back to it.

Similar thing happened with me, brewing-wise, without the drawing. I made a lot of wine back in the 80's but only tried making beer for about a year. Very little knowledge at all made for inconsistent results. Some very good batches, some not so good, and some bottle bombs for sure. Ended up sticking with only wine and barely even drank beer for the next 25 years or so because I hated the beers I could afford and couldn't afford the beers I liked. Am I ever glad I decided to give it another chance and even more glad I found the Borg. Now I'm having fun with the best hobby of my life and the most enjoyable beer drinking of my life as well. And some of the best friends ever, which I only wish I could meet in person. Still grateful to meet them here anyway.
