Golden Promise malt

Other than some of the kits I bought years ago with only a small amount of this grain, I've not use Golden Promise as a base malt. Anyone use it and can tell me what I should be expecting from it? I see it used in recipes online often and lots of times for IPA's and Pale Ales.

I use it a fair amount. It's kind of a baby Maris Otter... the Scottish equivalent. As I understand it, the growing season is directly opposite MO, so sometimes during the year you find it a bunch cheaper. I get a honey flavor and a softer edge than MO, but otherwise similar characteristics. I use MO for heavier beers (and love it), but if I want something a bit more gentle, I go to GP.

I was fiddling with a recipe and thought I might use it for my base grains or maybe split it 50/50 with 2 row.
I've ready that many use it in place of MO, which I love to use.
