I see a lot of beers going the way of the McRib which comes out at certain times and people flock to get them while they can, yet if they were on the regular menu they would be a flop. Levitation, being sessionable, would be a great seasonal release for the dog days of summer. So, rather than kill some of these beers, make them limited releases where the fans will swipe up whatever you can make in that batch and then it is done.

A moment of silence, then a trip to the beer store to stock up.
With a new beer out almost every week, it's not a surprise. But, Levitation is a good beer, IMO. SSR I enjoyed but rarely bought it in bottles but me loves the draft.

The last 15 gallons on Levitation that I enjoyed I brewed. So maybe I'm partly to blame.

And you wonder why we blame you for pretty much everything....

Levitation is one of the few Stone beers I would drink regularly if it was priced reasonably. Not that I don't like other Stone beers, but I just don't drink 6%+ beer as my daily beer, I like my daily beer 4-5%, because I consume it for calories and sometimes drink 2 pints like a Brit. The only reason I don't have it around here all the time is that it's priced the same as the rest of the bigger Stone beers, so I'd rather make it myself.

I agree with this statement made in the article: "I would argue Levitation is much tastier than Stone’s new Go To Session IPA."
I'd also agree that Levitation could have been re-branded as a Session Red IPA or Session Amber and possibly seen an uptick in sales due to the popularity of the session ales right now.
This is a sad, sad day my friends. I will be heading off to the nearest liquor store this weekend to find a sixer and I'll be making this my next brew (whenever that may be).
Please, a moment of silence.
Oh, and SSR can suck it. I never liked that one.

Don't worry Ron, they're coming out with a darker beer that you're going to love more.

Got a tweet today that Stone is planning and Enjoy By Black IPA. Not necessarily replacing the SSR but something knew.
There's a little info at the bottom of this article: http://blog.stonebrewing.com/index.php/ ... righteous/

Interesting since SSR is a black IPA and they are pulling that. Maybe the Enjoy By brand will help sales.
Wait....y'all get tweets down in the Bayou?
