Hi!
I'm going to make my first beer with 2-gallon BrewDemon fermenter and 2 cans of One Evil Pilsner BrewDemon extract. And I'm trying to calculate my future beer with BeerSmith2 application. I created new extract profile for One Evil Pilsner extract, where SRM=12 IBU=16 and amount of ectract is 1 kg (according to official information from BrewDemon site). But I can't choose which beer style I need to select in BeerSmith2 because my extract SRM is out of all pilsner styles SRM limits. So can someone help me to understand what I'm doing wrong?

Re: BrewDemon and BeerSmith2
I wouldn't worry about it, a lot of brews made are not always true to style. I don't mean just BD or MrB, but our own original recipes.

I am drinking ale today."

Ok, thank you for the answer.
Re: BrewDemon and BeerSmith2
You're not doing anything wrong, the extract is just not light enough to fall within style guidelines set by the BJCP. It's not that big a deal unless you are planning to enter a competition. I pick the style of beer I'm brewing when putting a recipe in BeerSmith and I'd say that half my recipes are out of whack in at least one area "according to style".

Welcome to the forum!
I found for software and DMEs, qbrew is more accurate. Brewsmith I believe is geared more towards all grain although it can be used for DMEs. IMHO Brewsmith is a good program but can be a pain in the backside to get set up correctly. You can also e-mail the Brewsmith creator and ask them for help if need be. qbrew is free if you have not seen it and is a decent program. Again, IMHO

And to top it off, if you are using the yeast supplied it will not be a pilsner as it uses ale yeast. So even if the numbers matched perfectly, technically it would still be out of style.
