Not sure I agree with all the ones I've had myself but some big names can be found.

Best beer that I would rarely drink from every state. Except for Pliney. I would drink that.

I can say Tennessee's beer is pretty darn good, Yazoo's SUE.

These lists always seem 10%abv barrel aged stout heavy to me. While I like beers of that style, I like a lot of other styles just as well...

Before I even opened the link I knew what they had chosen as Minnesota's "best beer". While Surely truly does make an incredible beer it is not, IMHO (The "H" stands for humble. Ha!), the best. These people have to realize that once you leave the Twin Cities' Metro area you're still in Minnesota and there are a lot of really, really good breweries out here.

I only cruised through the choices; didn't read/study them, but it seems to me that they went with "big, specialty" beers in a lot of cases. And while a well-made Russian Imperial Stout is a wondrous thing, I contend that there's something to be said for a good, consistent session beer. New York has more to offer the beer-drinking world than the choice herein. Brooklyn makes some incredible IPAs. Saranac (humble but honest) makes beer that are just darn good beers. Darn good session beers. Ommegang concentrates on Belgian styles, it's true, but they do a damfine job. Smaller (and less visible) breweries, such as Captain Lawrence and Rohrbach's represent very well.
What it comes down to is personal choice, really. One of my favorite craft beers is my own hometown's Muddy Creek Lager from Defiant Brew Co. Good luck finding it outside of Rockland County, NY.
