That's a pretty darn good deal. Good job getting the special price. I already use BeerSmith and can vouch that it's a real good program. If you really want to take advantage of the full software you will need to do a little prep work create your own equipment profile and dial it in. But once you do that, it's an awesome peice of software.

I have BS2 as well, and love it. Cool feature is you have some built in cloud storage available. Just need to sign up separately for that. Now instead of duplicating my recipes at home and work, I just save it to the BS cloud and have easy access. You can also make them public to share with other BS cloud users, or keep them private. Cool extra feature for no extra $.

Great job getting this set up Louie!

Good job! Funny thing is that I have v2 but only use v1 since I can run it on a USB drive as my work laptop is pretty well locked up from me installing things on it. Since my shot glass of a brain gets confused using two different versions of the "same" software Ive stuck with the old version.

Thanks for the discounted purchase, looking forward to using this software for brew days. Especially having mash and sparge volumes figured out for me. It makes my head hurt sometimes with all the math!
:thanks:

Steve...it might take some work to really get it dialed in. But once that happens, it's pretty damn accurate. For example: My first few times I was off on my water volumes. Then I boiled 5 gallons of water for an hour to get my hourly boil off rate. Once I had that figured (among a few others), my volumes were damn near dead nuts on, and have been ever since.

Agree Blackduck that's one of the first items that needs to be found, Boil Off needs to be identified.

I can get boil off pretty close from the past batch notes but figured it would take a couple to dial it in.

I have to slightly adjust mine in the winter since we have less humidity and I loose more water but for the most part, the differences are slight.
I've actually found other, online free tools that are more accurate for me and my equipment than BeerSmith but BS is close enough for me if that's all I wanted to use.
