I seek no sympathy, I knew the job was dangerous when I took it. Also several guys did not survive it, so I'm lucky. However, those that also suffer will get it. It is raining here, and my hips are a liquid fire. My back hurts so bad that I can not get a good breath, got to pant...It's going to be a long, long night.

Thanks y'all, it started backing off about 4. Usually takes a really big storm to be more than an annoying ache. I don't know why that rain was so bad on me , wasn't a particularly strong low. At least not way down here.

Sorry you have to go thru all of that stuff. Try to take it easy for a few days.

You'd think that back pain would be something the VA was expert at.
JJ if I had money I'd buy you a hot tub.
Hope it passes soon.

You'd think. I've been a VA patient for back pain for over 15 years. Their remedy, either operate (which makes it worse 9 outa 10 times), or throw drugs at you. I refuse to go under a knife myself, atleast I can still walk. Their other option is to tell you to lose weight. I lost 60 lbs, did not make a difference, once the damage is done, it's done. I feel for jj, we are both in the same (sinking) boat.

Yeah SWMBO kept after me to get surgery 'till I let her talk to the doc, to find the probable out come. He told her probably a 75% chance it'll be much worse after surgery. My attitude is; as long as I can still walk, they ain't gettin near me with a knife.

I was told "I'll do more damage trying to repair it than if you just leave it alone" by my back specialist. Last summer my GP offered to send me for a lumbar injection. Given the bad outcomes in recent years, I declined that also.

I had 3 different neurosurgeons from 3 different hospitals tell me the same thing. I would put you in a wheelchair if i did surgery now. When your in one i will see if anything can be done. For the thorax region there is nothing they can do. What a ride it has been time for a nice single malt scotch

I had minor back problems for years and it got so bad when I was driving a big truck that I had to find some type of relief. Went to a specialist and had a frank talk opted to have surgery was pain free for a number of years but now I find that with to much walking or standing I have a little pain but not as bad as before (my 2 cents).
