Well, tomorrow I'm going on a local Brewery Tour, compliments of my youngest son and his wife. They got a Groupon deal for a guided bus tour of 3 local breweries with lunch included. We get to take snacks and 'beverages' along on the bus since it's a 7 hour tour. I'll be bringing some home brews for the driving time and making sure there's enough to share with others on the bus who I expect to be curious when they see we're not drinking store bought. Should be a good day.

Enjoy yourself Joe and remember that there were some people in the past that went on a 3 hour tour, a 3 hour tour and look where they ended up!

At least getting stranded in a place with giant fermenters wouldn't be so bad. Unless there beer stealing monkeys.

I was gifted a Brewery tour in Brooklyn last year, loved it. We were the oldest people on the tour, but the hipsters were very nice, even interested when they learned I had been a Brooklyn cop. Let us know how it goes.

Can you really depend on Depends for a seven hour brewery tour? I mean there really aren't a lot of body parts JoeC can still rely on.
Hey Joe, which breweries were on the tour?
Adleberts is pretty cool and they do some great brews there.
Have fun buddy.

I figure if Joe is accident-prone he can wear Oops I Crapped My Pants. This is him in his younger days in the ad.

Well, we're on our way home now, and my designated driver, who I had the good fortune to marry is delivering my drunk ass home. I sure hope the morning hangover is not too awful. I'm really quite a weinie when it comes down to the nitty gritty.

Well, here it is, the morning after. Mild to medium hangover. Could have been worse. Drank all my samples as well as all my wife's samples. I am typically a heavy drinker, but not a fast drinker. Pacing myself has been the secret to endurance. Like a fool I didn't skip my traditional liquid breakfast before going on the tour. That and visiting 3 breweries in 5 hours and drinking 3 pints at each stop proved a bit too fast-paced for me. Some of those pints were between 8% and 10%. None of the ones I chose were low ABV. I could barely stand up by the end of the tour. The wife says I fell to the ground on the way back to the car afterwards. I'm glad I wasn't fully conscious to witness that. But we sure had some great brews. Inspired me to make a few of them in the future. Among my favorites was an Imperial Red, and an Imperial Stout. There was a wide range and they were all good. I don't think I ever tried that many different beers in one day, and probably never even in one month. I think I tried 16 brews in all. Made a new friend, too. Turns out his wife got him a brew kit with bucket, recipe, wort cooler, etc, a few years ago and he's never used it because they have 4 kids running around the house. We live about 30 miles apart, but I told him I'd be happy to help him get off the ground using phone and computer to communicate. Well, time to get more water inside me and see if I can handle a cup of broth now.

Yep. Adalberts was one of the stops. Also Austin Beerworks. And one brew pub which I can't remember the name of. They had great pizza there and gave us a flight of five beers, pretty large flight glasses, too. Of those I liked one and loved one, was neutral on one and had little regard for two. at the other places we got to choose for ourselves' so I liked every one I tried.
