The Weekend

Post by Beer-lord »

Got a nice one planned out this weekend with gorgeous weather to boot. Our friends who moved to California (and plan to come back the end of this year) are in for a quick weekend. We meet up Friday afternoon for a BBQ and chillax session. Followed by some jamming (well, we still try to anyway) into the wee hours.
We crash, get up Saturday and sometime shortly after noon, begin the crawfish boil for the afternoon/evening. RedBEERd has made a special beer for this long weekend occasion and I have 2 beers recently done plus we have loads of craft beer in fridges galore with the hope they might surprise us with some.
Sunday we moan about our hangovers and enjoy the day with likely another BBQ or chillax session. We hope to catch up, act a fool and live to talk about when we have no teeth (sorry Joe) :o

I'll try to bore the group with pictures but it might only be pictures of beer and crawfish. No one wants to see that.
Crawdads are still high and will stay that way until after Easter so we're keeping it to about 60 lbs.
Gonna have to brew soon to replenish too!

I'll likely need a few of you guys to be my pall bearer after this weekend........If I don't pace myself......well......

The weather this weekend is supposed to be AWESOME this weekend, after us having record breaking temps last week and rain all day today. It's setting up for something prolific.

And we may have more snow! At least the ice has melted on the harbor, if not the driveway.
I hope you have a great weekend. We've been to two anniversary parties the last two weeks (25 and 35 years). A fire dept dinner is upcoming, then a homebrew meeting. And someday, spring.

Never mind, there it is.

Sounds better than my weekend. I have to work Saturday, and it's also the End-of-Month Crazies at work, where everyone has to scramble to make sure they're completing as much of the leftover work as can be done.

Enjoy the food, the drink, and especially the quality time with your friends.

Drinking begins today at 2 pm and will continue thru Sunday. We pick up the crawfish at noon and will start the boil around 2. So by 3ish, the first batch will be ready. You can come by around 9 as we clean up and throw all the cleanly sucked crawfish heads in the garbage.
Here's a dancing banana for ya too!

What a nice weekend from 2 pm Friday to 7pm tonite. Couldn't ask for better weather and better times with the best of friends. Haven't had this much fun since Nashville and now it's back to work.
Here's some shots of the crawfish that we annihilated. The order isn't correct but who cares. 75 pounds between 9 people. We were hungry.
