Stone Pale Ale 2.0 released

That was quick. Clearly they were working on this long before they announced the retirement of the original Pale Ale.

I love the way the Mandarins Bavaria hops come through in Firestone's Easy Jack so I am looking forward to finding some of this.

Won't likely be here to soon but I read the Double IPA (Ruination 2.0) would be out on 4/20 and it's not here yet either.
I'm looking forward to them all. I'd love to hear what you think when you grab some.

Nice... I'm a fan of Easy Jack, so will be interesting to see how this compares. I wonder what time timeline is to get it out to this distro....

If they would make a 5%ish beer again I might actually drink some. As it is I'll just buy some of those hops and make my own beer, cheaper and more to my alcohol preferences.

Now Easy Jack, if I could ever find any, I'd drink a lot of that I think.

Well, they do make GoTo but I find it to be a little harsh and out of balance. I take it you've had Easy Jack?

I think I'll call Beer Thirty tomorrow and see if they have an ETA on this.

Enjoy By - I don't hate it but I'd rather drink my own. I like the Great Lakes "Truth Justice and the American Ale", and the New Belgium "Slow Ride" session IPAs a lot better. Both have better mouth feel and more interesting flavor. Both seem more balanced.

All the session IPAs I make these days are short boil hop burst hop stand. That keeps the harsh bite away but provides lots of flavor and aroma. I tend to toss a bit (sometimes more then a bit if I plan on piling on the hops) of Munich or Vienna into them if I'm not using any crystal. I don't think pure "west coast" style and session IPA play as well together unless you are really careful about when you add the hops.

I liked the original Stone Pale Ale, but I can see where they felt the need to bring a new Pale Ale to the table. The original was a very English inspired beer. Big on the caramel malts, I'm curious to try this new version although lately I'm not really big on a lot of the new hop varieties. I'm pretty old school with the hops I like in hoppy beers. Cascade, Centennial, Amarillo Simcoe, Chinook, Columbus...etc. All these new stone fruit and tropical hops aren't my thing.

I haven't had an original of these in a long time but I recall it being very English in style as well. I'm really anxious to try this as I do enjoy these hop varieties.

RedBEERd has been going all over looking for 2.0 pale and Ruination.
Does that say 2.0 on it?

Right under 'Ale', there is a small 2.0

Both just showed up at an uptown place since that's out of the way and I have no shortage of barley beverages, I'll wait until they are closer to home (remember Grand Funk?)
They are both year around beers so they're obviously in the area and will make it to the shelves locally soon. They seem to still have the older versions too. I guess that's the last of 'em.

I forgot about this. I need to go out and grab a bomber this weekend so I can compare the old versus the new!
