Whoa, 100+ IBU's, now my ears are open. Can't go wrong with those hops.
I've not seen you around much but hope you been brewing alot.

I read the forum every morning. I haven't been brewing as much since I quit bottling. I always have to wait for empty kegs now.
The "perceived" bitterness on this beer should be fairly low. Additions didn't start until the 15 minute to go mark, and I used the Munich and Caramel malts not just for color but also to sweeten it up a bit to reduce the bitter bite on the back side. I like a lot of hop flavor with a smooth finish.

Nice to see you again.

That looks like a real nice recipe. With all the hops at 15 miinutes and under, I bet you'll get a huge amount of hop flavor and aroma. I do a session IPA like that and the aroma is outstanding.

That's gonna be a good beer for sure.

After tasting my Hiphopapocalypse IPA™ at this weekend's family barbeque it's safe to say that 128 IBUs is not cloying at all. In fact it made for an amazingly tasty IPA full of hop flavor and aroma, it's my best attempt yet at this style. I added 4 ounces to the kettle before the boil started and the rest of the hops at 20 minutes or less, it's the only way to fly.

A lot of guys in the club do that, first wort hopping. Supposed to cut down on the harshness of some of those high AA hops. Going to have to give it a try even though i'm not a huge fan of IPAs. Always good to test out theories and gain some experience. Plus its another reason to make beer.

About half my IPAs now are fine with FWH. I definitely notice the difference.

When making stuff with high AA hops, I've not even bothered with a traditional bittering or FWH addition lately, I'm just starting at 30 or 20 minutes like Gymrat is here. I get plenty of bitterness for my liking, and tons of flavor/aroma.

It seems like all the big breweries out here are moving towards or have already moved to FWH and massive late additions.

To me even FWH leaves my IPA too bitter. I like a much smoother finish. I find hop bursting gives a finish similar to Odells IPA.

I kegged this beer today. The hydrometer sample was spectacular. I think this is the best IPA I have done yet.

I love the grain bill. Simple and flavorful. I bet it will be something to smile about.
I'll say it again, love them hops.

I can see why you like it, Simcoe and Amarillo go together like chocolate and peanut butter as far as I am concerned.

I just had another IPA last night that was the same combo and loved it, too.
