Rectum RyePA and my Big Mouth

The subject line is for Kealia. :)
Sunday I pitched a very big starter and within 7 hours, it was already starting to bubble. Since I've not had a clear primary fermenter in a long while, I'm enjoying watching it. With my Big Mouth Bubbler I ordered the double top so I can access the beer for readings if needed as well as a HUGE blow-off tube. I didn't really put a big enough jar for the StarSan so it threw up a little.
I'm not getting as much hop aroma on this yet but the carbon dioxide coming off of this hits me the second I open the freezer. Get to close and you see Elvis.

I really like my SS fermenter and use it alot but it is pretty painful lifting and moving it around. That harness was a must for me.

Since you referenced both Elvis and I, let me just say. "Thank you. Thank you very much".

I got the plastic. My very early brewing days with 1 glass carboy was enough for me to know I didn't want one.

It's still fun to watch fermentations. I love clear fermentors but wouldn't tuen down a SS conical if somebody winds the lottery and sends one my way.

It's just sitting at 66 and looks to be completely finished though I won't take a reading for a few more days but wow, the shyte at the bottom of this Big Mouth is about 4" high? I think I over yeasted it but better to be over than under. Of course, tomorrow is only a week so it has lots of time to sit and clear before I add the dry hops.
Really been craving something rye and am working on a black rye for a future beer. Can't seem to find many rye beers I like here so I hope this one hits my taste buds where I need them.

It's not as clear as I'd like for almost 2 weeks but I think the flaked rye causes that. But, it is finished at 1.014 and tastes very nice. The spice of the rye with the hop bitterness is pretty balanced.
Gonna dry hop in a few days then cold crash and keg next weekend.
A bit bigger than I wanted at a ABV of 7.5% but I like to have 1 big beer in the kegerator and have made lots of lower ABV beers lately so this was needed.
I like what I am getting from the hops and am not use to Palisade having only used it 2-3 times sparingly. Got more in this than I've used before and I think it works with the rye very nice.

I made a Rye PA a while back and want another. I think mine was a bit strong too.

Aren't they good and just different enough to enjoy?

I do like a little rye in a pale ale or IPA once in a while, I'm just not a fan of too much rye (which is totally subjective). I don't want a mouthful of rye bread, just a hint of rye to add to the flavor profile (for my taste).
