Gerry here. Some of you may know me from the Mr. Beer forum, or my small number of posts on Homebrewtalk. I like the fact that you can have foes here, who I assume would include people like Commander Data and Capt. Picard with his stupid Earl Grey tea... :borg:

Thanks Gman! A few people have called me by the name Gman over the years. I like your avatar. I've been to Wisconsin a few times and that pic definitely sums up the place. The artist just needs to draw a bunch of snow and frozen people on it and it would be perfect. (Btw I actually like Earl Grey tea.)

We're practically neighbors....I'm in Metairie. Wonder if our paths have crossed at Brewstock or a brewers meeting.
Hope to see more of you here.

Thanks everybody! Beer lord, I go to Brewstock pretty often but I haven't been to any meetings. My girlfriend is from Metairie and her family lives there, so I'm up that way frequently. I talked to a guy named Joey (iirc) in the homebrew section at Barnes and Noble yesterday, maybe y'all know each other.

Btw, at the moment I'm doing all-grain, 2.5 gal. batches. I have an English special bitter that I bottled 3 days ago, a Belgian pale ale that's almost ready for drinking, and a 12%+rocket-fuel English barleywine that I'm afraid to open before November. I brewed a Scotch ale the other day based on a a Traquair House Ale clone recipe, which was cool because it involved taking .5 gal. of first runnings and boiling it down to about a cup, then adding it to the boil. I have high hopes for that one.

Welcome ABorg!
Sounds like you are brewing some great beer. I have an ESB in the fermenter right now, and I plan some Belgian Pales for Summer.
