... apparently it's time for pumpkin beers. Saw Smutty Pumpkin and Southern Tier Pumking out in the wild today. Ugh.

Summer officially started June 21st. Therefore Yazoo Summer will be around until Mid/Late August, with Fall Lager arriving Sept. 1st.
I like that Yazoo has resisted the urge to skew the calendars for the seasonals like so many others...

That explains why I saw some Defiant pumpkin beer just yesterday. Anyway, I'm not even tempted. I've pretty much gone off pumpkin beers, fruit beers, etc. I'll take one now and then, but I'm not going to buy a whole six-pack of it. And I'm definitely not going to brew an entire batch of it.
I'm also going to wait to keg my Ottertoberfest until mid-September, so it's ready to tap in October. It's been lagering since April!

Call me a traditionalist but I'm in no rush to try a doughnut, or chocolate peanut butter, or jalapeno burrito, or pumpkin beer any time soon, or in fact ever. I'm still infatuated with brewing my Orange Sunshine Belgian Witbier and Hiphopapocalypse IPA. Right now they're the most sought after styles and have definitely earned permanent spots in my summer brewing schedule.
Fyi: I can't even get myself to think about Fall or Winter brewing yet because that'll just signal that Summer is nearly over...

Pumpkin beers are my fave. I love everything about Autumn, probably because we don't really have one in FL, and i miss it. I can't wait to brew and drink many pumpkin beers, but even i won't have one till sept.

SB, I never thought Pumpkin beer sounded good to me either. One of my daughters kept teasing me to brew a Pumpkin, so I tried a couple from a few different breweries and I liked them. So last year I made a couple batches and they were excellent, going to make even more this year.
I brewed these for my neighbor/friend last year and they were a hit with everyone that tried one, even the folks that said Pumpkin beer doesn't sound good.
But you are right Swen in your OP, it's way to early to start thinking of Fall. It's Summer beer time right now
