10 weeks and today's the day!!!

Post by teutonic terror »

:jumpy: :jumpy:

First brew in over 10 weeks.
Between work and the birth of a grand child, things have been crazy!
Also, got up this morning with a sore hip and back, so I didn't think it was gonna happen!

Hard to believe it's been that long, especially when, in years past I was brewing every weekend or two.
I've had cracked grain for that long also, so I'm not expecting a quality product, but I'm not gonna
waste it!

This is the recipe and I have to say this is my top recipe and I love it!
Now, I've gotta wait at least five weeks. :(

There is nothing at all wrong with that brewday recipe! I love what a bit of Aromatic malt can do to a beer.

Glad to see you're brewing again! Ten weeks is a long drought.

And that recipe looks like a killer beer recipe. Good luck with it.

Thanks guys!

I'm still trying to learn the aromatic malt.
I added a bit too much to my last brew, and it really overpowered the low AA hops
I used with it.

I always keep mine to 5% or less and usually about 6-8 oz. You are under 5% but it you don't like it, just reduce it a bit until you find your sweet spot.
I like how it gives the beer an orange-ish hue and a mild and almost toasty flavor.

It's in the bucket and clean up is almost finished!
Beer-lord, I love the aromatic contribution, but the last brew I used 5.5 hops instead of something
as potent as the Sorachi. It balances out right with a heavy hop IMHO. :)

Time for Buffalo Wildwings and some local brews!

Thanks for the encouragement BORG! :borg:
