I shall be a thread necromancer today, and just remind people that blending beer can be a very good thing instead of just being sad and dumping it.

I had a highly over carbonated bottle of Oktoberfest, and a totally flat bottle of my Black Azacca IPA. A 50/50 blend of the two makes a very nice normally carbonated tasty beer. Yay for beer.

I agree. My latest pilsner became a little bland, but mixes nicely with an APA.

Never mind, there it is.

I was rooting around in my beer closet for some usable bottles recently. I've had to bottle a couple of batches because they're darker beers I brewed early for the holidays and I want them to cellar for a while and not take up space in my keezer.

Anyway, I found a couple of six packs of something I called "Accidental Altbier." They're from 2013 or something. I'm almost afraid to open one, although they haven't exploded yet, and they've definitely been kept in a dark place, so they shouldn't be skunked.

Actually, I'll probably just be disappointed in a beer that I thought was pretty good seven years ago, but which I wouldn't give a second glance today, knowing what I know now.

Might as well open one up and try it. What else are you going to do with it?
