It was a very good day in the hops business. I wish another 1,000 people would decide to open a new brewery.

The desire is very real. The resources are very lacking.

My problem is getting a spot to do it in. My effen town is so antiquated. The amazing thing that seems to hold everything up is parking, or the lack there of.

Hey Whamo, you should see how bad it is here! I want to open up a craft beer bar, guess what? The city where I live doesn't allow bars to operate. If you serve beer you must sell food and it has to be 50% of gross sales.

Having worked with the Fix the Beer Tax folks, I can attest to the fact that things are changing in TN, but it still has a long way to go. It's encouraging that the changes here have seemed to spur a fair amount of brewery growth. I remember back when I moved here, it was Blackstone, Bosco's, and Bohannon's/Market St. (with Yazoo just getting ready to get started). Of course, with that, we also have some average (IMHO) breweries cropping up in addition to our solid breweries. I wonder when we (or any other city) will hit critical mass, and some of the average/below-average breweries will start to falter...
