Calling all doctor wanna-bees

I have no problem sharing some health info but understand if others do not but I'll ask here. My recent physical was really good except my TSH was high. It's been up and down for 6 years so after another blood test today, the doc wants me to try hypothyroidism meds. I'm not much for taking things and I'm sure I'm making a bigger deal than I need to but I'm not showing/feeling any of the symptoms at all. The range is .40 -4.0 and I'm 4.6 and have been as high as 5.1.
So, anyone who has hypothyroidism and wants to share info.....WTH should I know about this, the meds, what I should be noticing.
I don't have any of these symptoms:
Fatigue
Increased sensitivity to cold
Constipation
Dry skin
Unexplained weight gain (well, I'm 5'7" and 172 and could lose 12 lbs)
Puffy face
Hoarseness
Muscle weakness
Elevated blood cholesterol level
Muscle aches, tenderness and stiffness
Pain, stiffness or swelling in your joints
Heavier than normal or irregular menstrual periods (Ok, sometimes)
Thinning hair (who doesn't over 50?)
Slowed heart rate
Depression
Impaired memory (what was I talking about?)
Just because my doc of 20 years tells me something doesn't mean it's correct.....right?
